Sounds Like A You Problem

Sounds like a you problem; a little harsh? Maybe to some. As humans we struggle with the spiritual idea that we are not responsible for anyone but ourselves. It seems odd to us to consider we were put on this earth to focus on our own personal growth and healing (which raises the vibration and consciousness of the planet) and we seem somewhat selfish when we do. Societal beliefs have a lot to do with this inaccurate perception that we have to do whatever we can to help other people, that we feel we have a responsibility to them. It leads us to believe that it makes us a friendly character; it illustrates our kindness and thoughtfulness when we are considerate of others and save them when we can. And the opposite false belief applies also, and that is, you are a narcissistic person if you don’t.

Stop interfering in other people’s lives

Spirit teaches me we do not only ourselves but those we are ‘helping’ a disservice if we are always fixing other people's problems. When we step in and fix something for others, we are robbing them of their opportunity for spiritual advancement and healing. Suffering is an opportunity and we have to give other’s the chance to fix themselves. When we save people we create some karmic consequences of our own including damage to our boundaries allowing anyone and anything to access our energy.

Our relationships provide us with incredible opportunities for spiritual growth every day but if we are inauthentic within the construct of these relationships, no one is growing and in effect the connections are false. Have you ever wondered why we are social beings? It isn’t because we desire company, or we’ll be lonely without it, it is to facilitate our spiritual growth; our friends, acquaintances and family reflect our soul issues, trigger them, perform a role in them and vice versa. We require each other to resolve our issues and grow, and so we are designed as social creatures.  We often look at a situation from the outside but if you look from a different angle, you’ll notice that your outer life expresses your inner realm, your soul issues, and those in your life will act out what you need to heal and develop. It is brilliant, there is method in this madness. So, if we tip toe around people deciding not to upset them or are constantly working to keep the peace, we are interfering with the cosmic balance and the spiritual advancement of all involved. The only way to get through any of it is by being one hundred percent authentic to yourself. Allow your genuine self to shine through and support others to do the same. It won’t be smooth sailing, but at least you’ll be moving along your path.

Take A Step Back

So, I challenge you to change your perspective a little and look at everyone in your life as taking part in your spiritual growth and in doing so you are less likely to take anything personally, and rather will look at everything as an opportunity to grow and heal. If someone is abusing you, for example, you know that is how they are projecting their inner turmoil, rejecting themselves or reacting to a soul issue and has nothing to do with you. It is so much easier to not react when you get a real handle on this concept. If, however, you find yourself triggered and reactive; look within and seek healing. The sooner we all look within to heal there will be less blaming, less shaming, fewer accusations, less abuse and our relationships will improve and grow as will we.

No Place For Denial On This Journey

We all make our own decisions and if we are truthful to ourselves our choices will be for our highest good and guide us to our path and purpose, enriching our lives. If we ignore our intuition and stray off track, carrying out a wrong choice, we have the power to course correct. Whatever we get ourselves into we can get ourselves out of, we just have to be honest to ourselves and brave enough to carry out the changes necessary to re align with our spiritual direction. Being honest to ourselves and honouring our truth I know sounds cliché at this point but it is just that simple, by taking responsibility for ourselves and minding our business we honour the path that has been set before us and can accept the opportunity for healing and spiritual growth including fulfilling our purpose. Failing this we leave ourselves susceptible to karmic consequences in this life and thereafter.

Listen to your intuition; think wise be wise, the rewards are great!
