Feel To Heal
Feelings are feedback on how you are doing on your soul path. How we feel is our soul's way of speaking to us and is no different from us acknowledging a ‘gut instinct’. Every single feeling is valid and has meaning and it is why it is so important to be present and in your body, in your feelings as much as possible but more importantly self-aware because our feelings don’t always tell the full story.
I would lash out and explode with little warning
When I was in my early 20s I was very reactive and the regular emotion that would emerge was anger, as some things were going on in my life at the time that would explain this emotion it wasn’t ever given the attention it deserved. To be honest, I didn’t have the tools to know what to do about my fury and it wasn’t until I was thinking of having children and I knew I didn’t want them growing up with this around them, I sought help.
While it appeared my anger could easily be because of obvious reasons at the time it was later discovered through healing that this anger was connected to a past life unresolved soul issue. Going back many lifetimes I learned I experienced blind rage, enormous feelings of hate, and I lashed out. It didn’t end well for me in that lifetime and the baggage was a heavy burden for my spirit to carry, and I was again lashing out; the pattern was repeating.
Keep a positive mindset but never dismiss your feelings, it is ok to not be okay
Since I’ve been committed to my soul healing journey, I have become incredibly self-aware and very conscious of my feelings, thoughts and physical body so much so that when recently some feelings emerged again, I knew I had to pay attention.
This time it was tricky because I was experiencing feelings I thought I had dealt with, I felt I had no unresolved issues on the subject and yet the emotions of sadness and abandonment were coming through strong. It was when talking to a girlfriend about my feelings, and she was consoling me reminding me to focus on what I had rather than what I thought I was missing I realised I would do myself a disservice to dismiss these feelings only to focus on the positive. I appreciated the sentiment, and it is good to remember, but we have to be careful not to reject thoughts and feelings when our soul is talking to us. While I recognise that maintaining a positive mindset is effective, it is important to honour and understand our feelings first. Persistent feelings are a message and an opportunity for soul healing and are always connected to something, and often they have a layered and complex meaning that our conscious awareness isn’t privy to. We cannot recall our previous lives, so how can we heal our past traumas?
During one of my healing sessions around these feelings and thoughts, the issues that came up for me had nothing to do with what my friend and I had assumed. I was right not to dismiss them and focus on the positive in this case, I have dealt with those issues this lifetime and I’ve healed and moved on. What I was feeling was connected to a previous life decision I made 10,000 years ago. A choice is like planting a seed, it grows and expands, sometimes into something beautiful but make the incorrect choice and it expands with huge consequences attached. In my previous life I married the wrong person. My intuition was off that day because I have been paying for that choice ever since. Ever wondered why you are attached to someone in your life? I have, and now I have my answer, karma was harsh, let me tell you.
Be careful of promises you make because forever is a long time!
So, I do have concern for those that struggle with their feelings as I used to 25 plus years ago. Modern medicine, while providing momentary relief, does not heal the soul, it suppresses and numbs the emotions that while uncomfortable, we need to feel so we can heal our soul and move forward in this journey of ours we call life. In moments of overwhelm, while it isn’t easy, it helps to remember that feelings are temporary, everything is temporary.
